../‘’”::::::.*:> Thought of the Day- Fisher Monahan

035: "the path of not being caught in ego is a process of surrendering to situations in order to communicate rather than win." -pema chödrön

034: remixes are cool. In an age where everything kinda already exists or has been done. taking things that have proven to be successful and well received, then building on it to make people see it in a newer, more profound way is awesome.

033: Wikileaks is probably my favorite website. probably the most valuable website ever for anyone in lower tax brackets pre 2018.

032: buzzing mosquitos suspended in the air, bouncing in circles like synchronized swimmers.

031: there's a frog in the living room. there's a mouse in the floorboards. there's a deer in the headlights. there's a man in the field standing just beyond the porch light.

030: i know some things i didn't know last year.

029:

028: (new definition) barn picking: the act of pillaging/rummaging through abandoned or destroyed rural outbuildings.

027: chainsaws are basically lightsabers.

026: functional ladder design spotted on the back of an Air Canada airport lift truck: hollow metal frame with rubber padding to grab onto the sharp edges with. horizontal runners flush with the frame to create a perfect shelf on each step.

025: arc'teryx typeface, ITC Elan, known for its gothic elegance-- designed by Albert Boton in 1985.

024: our souls yearn for the places they've lived before.

023: it's not about the lyrics- it's about catharsis.

022: life in the "real world" is exhausting. it almost makes me feel like it's not real. i wonder if the cozy feeling we associate with going home is an innate biological process or just something we've adapted to with modern sedentary lifestyles.

021: having a Molson Canadian and watching old Russian cinema.

020: i go through phases of adopting name-brand technical sportswear, then taking what i like, trying to make my own, failing, and ultimately switching directions to entirely organic clothes that make me look like a Neolithic man.

019: creative advertising (i.e. RACER spring sale, 2025) is right up my alley.

018: it is ideal to control where the market goes, but most people will take riding the wave of what the market currently is.

017: car companies are not sacred. do not let them tell you otherwise. they are not religious entities. they make cans of metal and disconnect us.

016: car companies turning mrr profit model is perhaps one of the most evil things to be normalized in the past decade.

015: I defend the animals of the land like a grand wizard from the ever-reaching tentacles of rental units and shopping plazas.

014: black coffee at the Safeway Starbucks on Aurthur. I ask the lady sitting next to me if I can plug my camera battery in by her chair. 12:40pm

013: there is a place that exists only in the space between wind, and yet somehow, it's everywhere- all at once.

012: and it was there in the smoked-out boxcar parked in the shadow of the mountain that the boys felt the gales of Saskatchewan come early.

011: "The Fisher (Pekania pennanti) is a carnivorous mammal native to North America, a forest-dwelling creature whose range covers much of the boreal forest in Canada to the northern United States. It is a member of the mustelid family, and is the only living member of the genus Pekania. It is sometimes referred to as a fisher cat, although it is not a cat."

010: Entertainment giants like UMG & interscope control much more than music. sleeper industry that keeps gaining valuation as music and digital media become more & more integral to our daily lives and commodify them out under our newly-built dependence.

009: Rainstorm. 4am. Green jumpsuit. Trees thrashing.

008: A kombucha, an orange, a 3.5, and a hammock.

007: I met a researcher from the quantitative Sociology division on my walk home today while collecting grasses from the side of my trail. He warned me of a family of Sasquatches on campus who live in the trees, and are easily startled

006: too much surveillance.

005: if the punishment for a crime is a fine, then it's only a crime for poor people.

004: today I was a deer.

003: the basic patterns in which we think are our biggest strengths and weaknesses. they can liberate us, or imprison us.

002: Trying to recreate the same external stimuli as a Neolithic person.

001: I'd love to be a record exec. I look at a band called Shed Theory and see the same Beatles type energy directed at a different generation.
